[8.920][ANSWERED] Endpoint Update failed.

Hi all,

Hope you are doing well.

I have this problem when I downloaded the agent from the link that Astaro gave me and installed the agent and removed MSE agent , the sophos agent could not update.

I don't know where is the problem but the internet is working fine.

    i have a similar issue, 
    UTM version 8.920
    trying to install endpoint protection on a windows 2008 r2 server
    setup completes successfully, but updating fails.
    when i check update configuration, it is empty.
    no servers and no user / id.

    I have tried both the installer and the link, same result.

    Hi Iceger,

    If your configuration setup is empty(primary location), it means that the endpoint didn't receive it's update policy from the UTM. It should contain a location and some credentials. This means there is a possible problem between the endpoint and Sophos LiveConnect. Can you please detail the steps you took and what configuration you're running?  How did your setup complete? Did the endpoint show up on your UTM?

    my primary-path is http://d3.sophosupd.com/update/ and there are login-credentials in my av-client.
    no paketfilter rules are blocking.

    i got an empty alert in the endpoint overview.

    @Jens: The empty alerts in the endpoint overview are/should be unrelated to this issue. I think they were triggered when you played with the Tamper Protection feature(just a hunch).

    my setup is like this:
    UTM 8.902 on Vmware
    i have 3 interfaces, external, internal and one for lab.
    computers on internal interface looks ok. with primary update source and userID / password.

    computers on the lab interface is not getting any configuration.

    installation goes through without any error messages, there is nothing in system logs either.

    the lab network has a any, any rule outbound.
    i have tried with web filtering turned off, with no success.
    there is nothing in firewall log from the computer in the lab network.

    Same Problem here...
    I have checked my EPP installation: Client was installed with Version 8.900. 
    I have installed my Up2Date to 8.902 in the evening of March 30.
    The Client got his updates from March 30. until April 02. 
    The Client-Update fails since the evening of April 03. 

    In this time I didn't change anything on my client and on my Astaro...

    @wingman: It's not worth resetting your Registration Token. That only invalidates your current installer, and has nothing to do with the update issue.

    @Iceberg: Does your endpoint show up in webadmin? I think this might be because the endpoint can't talk to Sophos LiveConnect.

    Update on the "endpoint does not update" issue:

    The DNS problem was unrelated to this issue.

    There is a problem within Akamai's system. Until this is fixed the DNS entry for d3.sophosupd.com has been redirected in-house. The TTL for the DNS entry is 1 hour.
