[8.920][ANSWERED] Endpoint Update failed.

Hi all,

Hope you are doing well.

I have this problem when I downloaded the agent from the link that Astaro gave me and installed the agent and removed MSE agent , the sophos agent could not update.

I don't know where is the problem but the internet is working fine.

Are you seeing any denies on the firewall log

The client will be using port 80 to update the definitions

When it was failing I tried everything I could think of - disabled the Web filter and made sure there was a packet filter rule. Still no luck

I finally got it working

I downloaded the .dat file in a web browser (typed in the address of the update server followed by the name of the dat file.

copied the file to the C:\ProgramData\Sophos\AutoUpdate\data\warehouse directory.

re-started the update - it worked. Stalled once - I simply retried and it downloaded everything then installed the Sophos AV.

The above worked on my 2 laptops

@red_diablo2004: From the screenshot you attached I see you have no server defined for the Primary Location. Has that changed at the time being? That information(location+credentials) get supplied in an update policy sometime close after the registration phase. Can you please check and confirm/infirm this for me?

Hi,
i have a similar issue,
UTM version 8.920
trying to install endpoint protection on a windows 2008 r2 server
setup completes successfully, but updating fails.
when i check update configuration, it is empty.
no servers and no user / id.

I have tried both the installer and the link, same result.
