  • Hello Azwan,

what's in InstallDB.log (if it exists)? The article you mention is for SEC4.0 and should not apply to SEC4.5. Apart from that - the size of SOPHOS4_log.ldf is beyond any reasonable value (though I can't say if this is related).

  • Hi Christian,

I Didn't collect the database logs, however InstallDB.log info is "Msg 945, Level 14, state 2, server xxxx\SOPHOS, Procedure From3T045, Line 34 Database SOPHOS# cannot be opened due to inaccessible files or sufficient memory or disk space". Thanks

  • Hello Azwan.

looks like it's attempting to upgrade from the SOPHOS3 database. Is the SOPHOS3 database still listed in the instance (sqlcmd -E -S .\sophos -Q "select name from sysdatabases" )? If so, do the database files still exist?

Apart from that  - has the SOPHOS45 database been created (i.e. is it listed in the above command's output) and what is the available space on the volume?

  • Hi Christian,

Yes, SOPHOS3 still exist and SOPHOS45 database has been creted when installation running before failed and HDD size is 20GB from 50GB. Thanks

  • And SOPHOS4 is also here, I assume.

Which components of SEC are installed right now? None? I'd backup both the SOPHOS3 and SOPHOS4 database, then drop SOPHOS3 and reattempt the install.

Apart from that please take a look at Sophos Enterprise Console: sophos3_log or sophos4_log files have become too large.

  • Hi Christian,

Currently SEC4 is install on VM and server snapshot was created before we proceed with upgrading if anything happen.

I have try to remove SOPHOS3 and SOPHOS4 unfortunately the error is still same when re-run upgrade.

Best solution right now to proceed with schedule , I have to install fresh SEC4.5 at customer server  and collect all the necesscary info to performed upgrade at office using copy of the database and replace the fresh SOPHOS45.mdf file.

    Thanks

  • Hello Azwan,

I have try to remove SOPHOS3 and SOPHOS4

Perhaps I have misunderstood you - if you drop both there's not database to be upgraded (although the installer might get confused). Anyway, there's more than one way to skin a cat - though I wouldn't just copy the .mdf file.
