Can Not receive Updates

I was using VRT 2.4, It could not update, message said check Internet connection. Nothing wrong with connection I downloaded the latest version, and uninstalled 2.4, installed new version. Still get the same message.

I notice several other messages for the same problem, none have any replies.

Is there something wrong with your system that doesn't connect properly for updates.?

Still the same next day, this is a screenshot of the message I get.

Does anyone know why this is happening.?

    I am also receiving this message since yesterday 7th June when I went to carry out my regular scan.

    I have checked all my connections as instructed in screen message and find nothing wrong.

    I have also uninstalled and the installed latest version of Sophos Virus Removal Tool but on start up I am still getting the same message.

    I'm seeing the exact same problem as of 6/7/2014 - with the identical screen. The product version is 2.5. Tested uninstalling the product and reinstalling it from the saved install file. Same failure. Re-downloaded install file on 6/8/2014 with identical failed result. The build date is 3/12/2014. According to the documentation, the product is to last only 3 months. I'm wondering if the 3 month period has already tolled. If so, this problem will irritate and annoy many users.

    I’’’’m also getting the same update problem since 03-Jun. Updated the whole package but still get the error.
    Log file C:\ProgramData\Sophos\Sophos Virus Removal Tool\Logs\SophosVirusRemovalTool.log  shows

    To me it looks like http://d1.sophosupd.com/update/catalogue/sdds.svrt_10.xml is not being resolved by Virginmedia.com?
    (I didn’’’’t have full access to e-mail last week while they were upgrading! their network.) Is this just virgin or are other ISP users getting the same problem?

    The "Failed to update" screen persists on 6/8/2014

    The network tab on the resource monitor shows two TCP connections to SVRTgui.exe, with one connection showing a remote IP address of 23.72.38.171, as shown in the tracert above.  The second has a remote IP address of  23.72.38.160
