Dashboard showing wrong count of active Remote Access users

Hi there,

since some versions the WebAdmin Dashboard is counting the Site2Site SSL VPN additionally as Remote Access users:

Dashboard:

Site2Site:

Remote Access:

I have 2 Site2Site Connections active, but no Remote Access users online. the Dashboard however Shows 2 active Remote Access users.

Bug or feature?

UTM 9.103, Home License.

edit: I think the problem appeared with 9.100 or some lower 9.00x Versions.

    • UTM: 2 vCPUs, 2GB RAM, 50GB vHDD, 2 vNICs on vServer (KVM) | UTM 9.7 (Home License) with: Email Protection, Webserver Protection, RED-Tunnel (server)
  • We are running 9.006-5 and this isn't showing this behaviour. We have 1 IPSec site-to-site and 1 SSL site-to-site connection and dashboard only shows 2 site-to-site connections and 0 remote access connections.

  • I remember this to occur first in 9.100, but I'm not 100% sure.

So to specifiy my question: Someone with the current firmware, who has this?
    I know it's only a display error, but it's annoying... [;)]

  • I wonder if this isn't something added when the ability to define multiple SSL Remote Access profiles was added in V9.1.

  • In my case it's the other way round: I have active Site2Site SSL VPN connections but no active Remote Accesses...

  • Any news on this? I still have 2 active SSL Site-2-Site connections and 0 active Remote Access sessions but dashboard is showing 2 active Site2Site tunnels and 2 active Remote Access users.

I also deleted the SSL Remote Access profile which was migrated from the previous version and created a new one, but that didn't change the behaviour.

Is someone from Sophos willing to look at this?

  • We upgraded to 9.104-17 this week (from 9.006-5) and we also have this now (wasn't this way in 9.006-5).
I have reported it to our reseller who in turn will report to Sophos.

  • I'm not seeing this issue on 9.104-17 when I connect via SSL VPN from my iPhone 5.  Connections show up in the correct spot only.

Bob, it's in the dashboard where you see a summary of what you've got.
The count of site-to-site connections is correct, however a SSL client site-to-site connection is also counted as a remote access connection in the dashboard.
