Install failure

I'm trying to install the latest version on an HP Elite desktop.  The system boots up from the CD and I get the BOOT: prompt.  I press enter to install and then CD runs for a couple seconds and then nothing else happens.  No messages, no activity, just a blinking cursor.  Any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

    I downloaded one of the other ISO files, created a new CD and it worked.

    It could have been a bad burn or you used the wrong image (ssi images are for Astaro/Sophos branded appliances only).

    I am trying to upgrade my hardware, have run into an issue.  I currently have UTM9.302-2 installed on an old HP system.  I have a new HP desktop that I want to move to.  I have installed asg-9.209-8.1.iso onto it and it works.  But, when I go to restore my current configuration onto this new one, after restarting it, one of the NICS is dark and I can't get the interface at all.  Are there any specific guidelines on how to accomplish moving an existing config to a new box?  Thanks!

    Hi, tbannar, and welcome to the User BB!

    You cannot restore a 9.302 configuration onto a 9.2 setup - you must first Up2Date to 9.302 or find a 9.209 backup.

    Thanks for the reply Bob.  I have tried every combination of versions with no luck.  I just updated my working firewall to 9.303-2 and created a backup.  I downloaded asg-9.303-2.1.iso and installed it on my new pc, went into the initial setup and applied the backup.  After hitting the continue to wait popup 5 times, I rebooted the new pc.  Now I can't connect to it because the internal nic card is not active.  Its as if the restore of the backup deactivated the nic for the internal network.  The lights on the nic are out.  Does the restore expect the hardware to be identical and since the nic cards are different, it deactivates the ones it doesn't recognize?  I know the hardware is working and supported because I can not do the restore and manually get everything to work.  But, I have too many definitions defined to recreate this from scratch. 

    This is completely frustrating and any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks once again Bob.  The problem was on my old pc I had 3 nics.  eth0(isp), eth1(inactive), eth2(internal).  On the new firewall, I have eth0(isp) and eth1(internal)  So, when I applied the config to the new firewall, eth1 was disabled because it was on the old firewall.  doh!

    Right... restoring a backup should always be done on a machine with at least as many NICs.

    If you have to, you can disable NICs in the old machine and take a new backup.
