Wan link error

I'm having a problem with my ASG v8.103 where every few days my WAN link (cable modem) shows it's status as being up, but the state as up but the status as error and I have no internet connection.  Unfortunately when this happens the only way to correct it is to turn the interface off and back on again.  Is there something I can do to prevent this from happening or to have it automatically recover itself from this situation?

    no this is not the case....
    i have in this order connected my devices.

    (internett) -> modem -> Zyxel Ruter -> astaro 110.

    it mak no differet connecting the astaro directly to modem.
    and if its behind zyxel router it still locks up.
    internett connection is still up from the modet trougth the router.

    Astaro probelm it's what i'm thinking

    do you have static ips? or leased DHCP's?

    If you have leased dhcps there is your problem.....

    renew and release

    check your zyxel make sure there are no dhcp leases at all.

    ISP is DH(c)P? That what's counts.

    forget your router zyxel.

    You should do nothing with that router straight bridge Pass through only. 
    NO RULES including DHCP ips or WAN to LAN ips. nada zilch nothing.....

    Punt the ball to the astaro box.

    Rules should be based only in astaro. 

    Check that router one more time, Im' sure you have DHCP leased out whereas it renews it ip and breaks your astaro connection.

    Its faster if you call your ISP to configure the specfics of that router. You could just use DMZ to astaro.

    Router between was just 4 testing.the same results.
    I normaly have the modem directly to the astaro..

    I've talked with the techguys at the cable company, and as I suspected they dont see any error.  the link is up on the LAN port of the cablemodem, but they see no traffic.  on the ASG side the eth port is showing "error".  If I turn the interface off and on again, t will work.  I never had this problem with 7.x and earlier. I tried to change the eth hardware to see if it might have been a hardware error with the eth interfacecard, but the error remains.  It seems to be totaly random and I cannot reproduce the error in anyway.  It usually happens 2-4 times per hour  so this is a MAJOR bug in the ASG software. I cannot think of any other hardware related that can cause this.

    all traffic ol lan side is altso down.. have link but no connection..
    i downgraded to 8.103 today an all working smooth..something happens in update installation or in the 8.201 FW is fauly...

    Since more than one person seem to have problem with the new firmware I guess it is a big issue. To help to solve the error lets report all our hardware if it is a hardware specific error.
    I have tried different networkcards, but the same error occurs on different vendors eg. Intel, 3com, Realtek and so on... The Computer is a Dell Optiplex GX620.

    Since the same hardware work prefectly in earlier releases of ASG, this problem have to be software releated.  I am about to use ASG in production on a few radiostations, but when this seem to be an issue I guess I'll wait until this is resolved.

    Are there any of the developers of Astaro reading this ?

    I did (to be sure) a complete check of everything, tried different cabled modems, different NICs and the error is still there. I installen an ASG 7.x  and it worked.  I could not reproduce the error in 7.x but in 8.x the eth interface randomly says "error" so this has to be a software error.  Maybe a error that occuers together with specific hardware.. I dont know.. What I do know that since this error causes a total outage on everything behind the ASG it has to be classified as a MAJOR problem. 

    Can any techguy from Astaro please acknowledge that you hade read this ?
