[7.003] Prefetch is no longer working

[7.003]  I was having a problem with with two of three computers that refused to receive email from a Road Runner POP3 server when prefetch was turned on.  Email from Earthlink would always work.  It took me a while to figure out what was different about the one computer that allowed it to work properly.  It had the free version of Grisoft AVG installed with email scanner enabled.  Apparently AVG inserts itself between Outlook Express and the internet, and somehow fixes whatever the problem is.  The two computers would stop at "Authorizing" until the connection timed out.  After installing AVG on them, they also have no problem with prefetch.

I don't think this issue was fixed with 7.004.  I still time out with prefetch enabled.  I agree with the AVG work around, because that is what is installed on all my machines that work with prefetch.

Trying to be smart, I uninstalled AVG from my main machine to test 7.004, and sure enough, Outlook 2003 timed out during authentication.   So I reinstalled AVG, and it still times out! ARGGG!  The email scanner on AVG with the outlook plugin is active, but I still can't get my mail.

Any Suggestions?

As you can see, at this point i haven't downloaded a message, but got the first error.

After trying to download my mails, i got this error:

I'm experiencing the same issues.  This is fairly disappointing as the entire I reason I spent today updating astaro from 6 to 7 was the promise of pop3 email proxying.  Now I've had to turn it off because with prefetch disabled the downloads are so slow it was unbearable, and with it on I wasn't getting any email on 3 accounts and one account wouldn't connect.  :s Are there any updates to when the fixes will be released?

Release [7.005] has been installed and the bug is still there. 
Damn, it's dissapointing.

I have no problem so far. Perhaps a server issue?
Is it a public pop3 server, so i can check it with a test account?

It is a wrong configuration of the pop3 server. The reaction of the apop command is not correct.

My email provider (hetzner.de) uses a misconfigured pop3d daemon.
I never tought about this alternative. Hetzner.de ist one of the biggest providers in germany.  The guy at the user help desk promised to fix this in the next days.

I never have been able to get it to work with a DSL Bellsouth account I've got... I may be missing something, but I can't find anything in the user manual about how to configure this (exactly) in the user portal... I assume that the "username" field should contain just my POP3 username... if so, it doesn't work.

They really should label those fields in the User Portal better, and more detail in the manual / online help would be good...
