Yes, agreed, this is not the official Astaro support hotline area. However, I think this forum has helped make Astaro a bigger and better company, I first learnt of Astaro, (and how to use it) by reading these forums.
Can't some Astaro staff member spend 1 hour a day answering questions here?
I don't see why Astaro have paid support anyway. Being the type of product it is, it's either in the manual or on the forums unless yer hacking ASL which is disallowed anyway.
I've emailed support 1-2 times in 2-3 years. (Usually to clear up a statement made here or to push them to answer a question).
Someone in this thread said v5 "teething problems". It's gone beyond teething problems now I'm afraid. V5 updates have passed the number of v4 updates by a huge margin. Version 4 is rock solid and I'm not seeing that in v5.
I'd be a hell of a lot happier though if we just had some more feedback from Astaro here and they stopped releasing new features when things like SSL encrypt option on SMTP is still outstanding!?
ASL is a great product but the Astaro team need to address these issues pronto or they will lose a ton of business.

thats a simple one and should work with ANY firewall...
not with astaro.... since V4 and before

What do you mean by that? it is a bind question with internal SMTP proxy service of astaro v5,like undropped taffic for defined single rule?! service to service,it's a powerfull configuration to define a route for know packet..but maybe I misinterpret unintentionality your post?!
That's my opinion, too! There are a lot of unsolved issues, that aren't fixed yet, but a new feature is implemented! Like the DNS reporting graph: they logged on to our ASL and found the prob, but no fix till today!
I have been having an issue with HA mode showing the slave IP address always as 0.0.0.0 . I was originally told this would be fixed in 5.018. Here we are up to 5.025, and it STILL isn't fixed....yet they impliment NEW features.
HOWEVER, as I manage 7 ASL boxen, including my own firewall at home, I have to say this is the only issue I have had that has not been resolved right away. And that is a mix of v4 and v5. And as of late, if anything my v4 has been having more problems that the 4 v5 machines.
Writing a posting is done very fast and it helps Astaro to find and fix difficult problems. Please also note reproducing and finding problems is a very difficult and time-consuming thing. To answer all the questions in this UBB by an astaro employee would need tons of time and menpower. That's not the concept of an UBB. One user answers to another. That's the concept of an UBB.
I am sure Astaro is working on open issues very hard. The ARM update is just a new feature. Fixing problems is still done independently of new features.
I kown the usernames of some Astaro employees. So I known that there are a lot of postings done by Astaro a day.

All new feature development needs to stop now..all resources need to be put into fixing the current feature set....having one group adding features to a code base full of problems only leads to more problems. This is the microsoft way of doing things..not a solid linux based security product.
Agreed, why add new features to something which is broken? You only complicate the issue.
Not only this but Astaro are starting to appear confused by their own products behavior on certain occasions.
ie, "No reboot required" on an up2date when one is required in most cases. There are other examples of this.
And yes, a UBB is for user to user issues. But when a thread gets 20 posts long, with people begging for a response from Astaro, a simple, "We are aware of this and will get a fix out ASAP" will do wonders to calm people down.
I think that people are starting to feel ignored by the company and that their problems are not important to the company. I know this isn't true but Astaro must ENSURE something is done about this. Otherwise Astaro would be best off getting rid of the UBB forums and handling everything through official support. (I'd hate to see that happen).
I mostly agree with what I'm reading here. Something somewhat relevant here.
Sadly, I've looked at the low cost alternatives and can't find anything that is acceptable. Gibraltar [gibraltar.at] looks promising, but doesn't seem to have much usage (or mail list traffic). Nothing else really seems to compare with Astaro.
