it's really sad - i can't understand what's going on with astaro. i was a fanatic and have infected all my friends to use asl. v4 was great- but i don't know what's going on whit v5 and new friends aks me now why the hell do i advise this software :-) . it's concept is great but i hope that it becomes stable soon and that the astaro team becomes more open for answering questions so that no rumours comes up.
i'm still on v5.17 and have now about 2 times a day a full stopp - whit 5.23 it was a disaster - stopps about every hour or so.
I think it's time to call Astaro Reps and try to get some answers, has anyone tried that yet. Lots of bad publicity on this board for Astaro, you'd think they'd handle this a little more professionaly.
i am shure astaro team reads all posts, but i think they have not time to answer all posts. they invest the answer time in develop [;)]
Astaro-Report-Manager is an new feature to do a central reporting for asl-firewalls, e.g. you have to administrate a lot of, you can central see what happens. also you can correlate you data.
don't think that this board is the official support channel of Astaro. They give away free homeuse licenses and run this board as a forum for discussions and private support. Some here seem to be Astaro business partners or commercial users, they should know where to get professional support from. You cannot expect everything for free! Of course Astaro benefits from this board since they would never reach such a wide, heavy discussing community delivering worthful input than here but where else do you get such a product for free? There are some problems O.K. teething problems with version 5 but all things considered it is a very good product offering high end features for nothing and even more you get server licenses for virus- surf- and virus protection for a chicken-feed.
