Bypass port 80 traffic to http proxy

Hi there. Since we cannot put the http proxy to port 80 I heard there was a way to deal with this and re-route the local traffic on port 80 to http proxy which is port 8080.

But the thing is I want to test now and only with my IP. Anyone knows how to do that? Heard about a dnat rule but i'm not sure.

Thanks,
Jonathan

  • Sorry, there's not enough information.  What do you want to test?  Is anyone else using the HTTP proxy now?

If you want to test the HTTP Proxy:
• Create a packet filter rule to allow internet access for everyone: 'Internal (Network) -> Web Surfing -> Any : Allow'
    • Put the HTTP Proxy into "Standard Mode"
    • Set your browser to port 8080 on the IP of 'Internal (Address)'
Now, you are the only one that will use the HTTP Proxy and everyone else will browse via the packet filter rule.  Is that what you wanted to do?

  • No actually we have everyone having direct access to the internet. What I want to do is to allow only my address to pass throught the http proxy. I don't want anyone else to pass throught the http proxy for now.

    Thanks,
    Jonathan
  • That is what I explained how to do.  If you don't want anyone to be able to get to the Internet, then don't create the packet filter rule I described.
