Difficulty downloading from user portal

Try Firefox 2.0 and up or IE6 --> it works fine...

but not works with IE7 !

Thx for the reply.  I do realize that Firefox and IE6 work fine.  But to tell an end user that they need to uninstall IE7 or download and install Firefox just to d/l the setup file is not a viable solution.

I know that. But it's the only way to download the configuration... 

We hope all Astaro fix this Problem in one of the next Up2Dates.

From the Astaro kb this is described as a security setting that is different in IE7 than it was in IE 6 or firefox:

Error 2:  No Download window

After logging into the end user portal and selecting download of the SSL client a brief popup occurs and then disappears.

Resolution:
The download window not appearing is a security setting in IE7 for Automatic Prompting for File Downloads that will need to be changed with the following:

In IE7
Goto Tools>>Internet Options
Security Tab
Custom Level
Under Downloads Select Enable for Automatic prompting for file downloads

Just HOLD DOWN the CTRL KEY when selecting DOWNLOAD !!!!

All of my users are having issues downloading the SSL VPN client from the user portal.  I have to instruct them to disable any popup blockers prior to going to the site  Even after disabling popup blockers the downloads sometimes still don't work.  Having to initiate a remote connection to assist them in downloading from the user portal is absurd.  

Does anyone have a good way to allow users to download the software without having to go through changing settings in their browser?  As it is, the portal is useless for end users needing to download the remote access client software.

RufusToofus - I instructed the end user to do that, but it still didn't work.  That's not to say that they were doing it properly, but I instructed them to press and hold the control key while clicking on the download button.  I could still hear the bleep noise indicating it closed the download window.  After having them try it for 10 minutes they were growing extremely frustrated so I downloaded it for them and E-mailed it.  Their only comment was that the end user portal was obviously not designed for end users.  

It shouldn't require special key presses or the changing of browser settings.  It's supposed to be simple so they can download, install, and connect.
