Update

Hi All,

the clients display the message "could not contact the server" when try to update.

I already create a rule (Internal Network -> Any -> Sophos LiveUpdate) in packet filter but the problem persists.

The clients will get the updates from internet or from ASG ?

Tkx.

  • Add a rule to allow HTTP and HTTPS access to d3.sophosupd.com .

  • Hi BrucekConvergent,

Thank you by your quickly answer, but I do what you said and the problem keep happen.

Could you please found the attachements screenshots ?

  • that d3.sophosupd.com definition should for a DNS group, not DNS Host.

Other than that, if that does not fix, I don't know what the issue could be.  If you are running a commercial license, I would suggest directly reporting this to Sophos Support.

  • Hi BrucekConvergent,

I change from DNS Host to DNS Group, but the clientes keeping cannot update, Cannot contact the server is the message..

One informational addition is that I use WebFilter and AppFilter in the ASG any rule is need in these controolers ?

    thx.
  • Hi Hi BrucekConvergent and All,

I just solve the problem, in the Web Protection / Web Filtering / Advanced have a "Skip transparent mode destinantion hosts/nets" I just put the DNS Group here click in Apply and the clients start to update correctly.

  • Marc it seems you are running with transparent proxy and therefore you needed the exception (as you have set it). If you were using standard proxy , then this is already covered (there are already exception set for sophos)
