What other features are running? How many users? What are your QoS setting?
Home use, My wife and I only but my kids are becoming the age of wanting to use the internet and UTM9 gives me the most control.

I found a previous post suggesting to shell into UTM and

press s then 1 then enter
press 1
now run the test again and watch to see what your cpu usage really is. "
I found that snort 21974 was showing up and at 99% during the speed test
I basically found this server on craigslist for $100 and loaded UTM9 on it.
It only has one xeon processor but a second one is about $25 on ebay for the same one.
Will UTM9 see the second processor?
Are 2 dual core 2.33 Xeon processors not enough?

It will...what other features are you using?..the second CPU may or may not help...really need to know what features you are using...and which model xeons..not just the ghz
Please try single scan and set to avira . Then try totally to disable scanning and check each change. Then revert back but leave only single scan and avira not Sophos . Then try with IPS disable. Look at the results. I am almost sure the IPS is the cause but please inform here what results you got in each test.
