User Portal issue

I have an issue that might be simple but I haven't yet found the answer. If I log in to the user portal as admin, I see the options that I have enabled under Management > User Portal > Advanced.

I want to give a superuser the ability to log in and create wireless hotspot vouchers. When she logs in, there are no options at all. Only welcome, and Log out. I tried adding her to the admins group just like the "admin" account but it made no difference. I also tried the Allow all users checkbox, and without it checked but with her account specifically entered (along with admin). Anyone know what I'm missing?

UTM is running 9.312-8

Thanks

  • Just to be clear, the selections on the 'Advanced' tab are to DISable those items.  I've never logged into the User Portal as admin, so I don't know if being in the SuperAdmins group confers special privileges there - can anyone comment on that?

  • Yep I understand that. Currently everything is checked to disable except the Hotspots, Remote Access and OTP Tokens. For the admin, those are exactly the options that show up but for this new user I created, (also with superadmins group membership) nothing is there.

    Thanks Bob
  • I just tried with a regular test user synced from AD and could not reproduce the problem you're seeing.  Are you sure you dragged the correct user into the Hotspot?

  • Yes there is only one other user besides admin and it was created for this purpose. It's a Local user though, I have no backend authentication on this system. That's the only thing different between my situation and what you tried as far as I can tell. I can open a support ticket and see what Sophos thinks and report back... are we on the same release? Just wonder if a bug was introduced. I'm on 9.312-8
  • Same version, and I don't think it has anything to do with the type of authentication.  Yes, get Sophos Support involved.  I bet you wind up deleting the user and the Hotspot and re-creating both.

  • Did you check that under Wireless protection -> Hotspots -> Hotspots the intended user is also listed as administrative user (or is member of a group that is listed there)?
