[9.104-17][BUG] Unable to update IP via FreeDNS

Hello, 

I tried to configure my FreeDNS account in my astaro box. But it seems as if it doesn't work. 
This is what the GUI says: 
DynDNS status is: An update attempt is in progress.

DynDNS modified: Thu Jan 1 01:00:00 1970


And this is what the logfiles say: 
2013:07:01-19:07:41 Iceman ddclient[8857]: WARNING:  file /var/cache/ddclient/ddclient.cache, line 3: Invalid Value for keyword 'ip' = ''

2013:07:01-19:07:42 Iceman ddclient[8857]: FAILED:   Could not get freedns update URLs from freedns.afraid.org


It's the same as here: https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/astaroorg/f/68/t/61672

I double-checked the settings and my username and password. 

How can I get this to work?
I am running a software appliance with 9.102-8

    Hi Bob ,

    I am working with the support on the FreeDns ,
    I want to help solving it but I don't have a machine configured with FreeDns .
    I was asked by them to run:
    /usr/sbin/ddclient -daemon=0 -noquiet -debug
    It suppose to output the URL with a hash , then copy it to the browser and this should update the IP ,
    If there is an error, please tell what is the error.

    Please inform me here or PM me.
    I want to inform the support , I am with them on this now.

    Hi ,

    I will Appreciate everyone else that have issue with FreeDns will post results of this test will be helpful.
    I hope that's way we will be able to isolate the issue.
    I am doing same test here , I am configuring that on my system.
    I need everyone that is testing this to post results with and without IPv6.

    There is no DynDNS IPv6 support (yet)

    I assumed that not , but just in case it was .
    Still have same errors in my environment.
    I will do some more tests , but it looks like it has same issue yet.
    DynDns working great after the GA.
    Still can not figure out why FreeDns isn't working.

    By the way I am talking about FreeDns not DynDns , the issue is with FreeDns.
    The DynDns is working .

    In fact, I wanted the value to be the actual IP of the internal interface, 10.z.z.246, and that's what I assigned to the FQDN manually on the FreeDNS site.  Apparently, what I wanted to do won't be possible.  Still, it's strange that the UTM has never tried to update the FQDN.

    I see the test you did with DynDns.
    I don't see results of FreeDns.
    Can you send me the results of the FreeDns test like I described ?
    Just if you got errors after putting the link in the browser and if yes what was the error.

    Check the FQDN - you will see that it is one of the FreeDNS domains.  It's just that the UTM uses checkip.dyndns.org to determine the public IP.  There was no link returned.

    Thanks .
    There is a link :-) in the report .
    If you will press the checkup.dyndns.org link you will see it is returning an IP.
    I will continue to investigate.
    All I know for now is that it needs to be checked in IPv4 for now and not IPv6.
    I will inform later today.
