[9.104-17][BUG] Unable to update IP via FreeDNS

Hello, 

I tried to configure my FreeDNS account in my astaro box. But it seems as if it doesn't work. 
This is what the GUI says: 
DynDNS status is: An update attempt is in progress.

DynDNS modified: Thu Jan 1 01:00:00 1970


And this is what the logfiles say: 
2013:07:01-19:07:41 Iceman ddclient[8857]: WARNING:  file /var/cache/ddclient/ddclient.cache, line 3: Invalid Value for keyword 'ip' = ''

2013:07:01-19:07:42 Iceman ddclient[8857]: FAILED:   Could not get freedns update URLs from freedns.afraid.org


It's the same as here: https://community.sophos.com/products/unified-threat-management/astaroorg/f/68/t/61672

I double-checked the settings and my username and password. 

How can I get this to work?
I am running a software appliance with 9.102-8

    Hi, I had the same Problem with one of my UTMs, but other UTM were running fine with freedns.

    So I found out, that you should not choose a freedns password containing special characters. May be, it works also for you.

    That didn't work on my test.  Still getting the SSL error message in the System log.

    We got an answer about that issue in 9.105 soft release thread.

     Will it be possible that the issue with FreeDns and DyNDns will be fixed with the GA of 9.105 or only in the next Ver. ?

    Of course it will be fixed in GA. 


    so it is probably the answer for that and we need to wait for a fix.
    9.105 will be probably very fast GA because of the security fix , so we wont need to wait too much :-)

    Hi,

    That may be a different bug, as (according to this thread) FreeDNS hasn't been working in the last few versions.

    I did not have the opportunity to check the FreeDns issue after the GA of 9.105 , hope the fix for DynDns fixed it too.
    Please inform if it did fix this issue too.
    I have an impression that the fix for DynDns might fix this too.

    It fixed the new problem with FreeDNS related to the DynDNS issue.  The "classic" problem now can be seen again:
    2013:08:21-10:25:34 post ddclient[4548]: FAILED:   Could not get freedns update URLs from freedns.afraid.org
