Confidentialtiy Footer not working?

That's such a coincidence! I literally was just hopping on the board to post this very same question and your message was at the top of the list.

I have the same issue, but i've noticed that confidentiality footer seems reversed. It stamps itself on inbound emails and NOT on outbound. How do i reverse it? I'm using an exchange server and it is the only one allowed to relay mail through astaro. I'm testing by sending to external hotmail/yahoo accounts btw.

However, the AV footer is stamped on all in and outbound mail. So in the interim, i've resorted to adding the confidentiality footer to the av footer, but it's annoying that it doesn't work right since i get my own confidentiality footer on all inbound mail still.

I got the same issue! Also it would be nice implement a .html-footer instead of "normal" text.

Same here, Footer applies only on incoming Mails.

Yes, the workaround that I've came up with is to set the conf. message in the AV message, this way the conf.message wil be send out. 
Also good to know is that if there is a Exchange srvr in the network try using the direct smarthost to point forward to the ASG. The message wil applied to incoming message unfortunaly.

Searching for a problem with my "Confidentiality Footer", I found this thread and realize this post is over 6 months. Confidentiality Footer is not appending to any SMTP emails. Running v7.007 ASG220.
Please advise.

Yes. I do have a "mailto" link in my footer. Is this no longer allowed/supported?

Same here, the Confidentiality footer doesn't work anymore. It used to work fine, but I don't know since what Up2Date it failed. I've no link or mailto ref in the footer. Just installed 7.010, but even in that one it still doesn't work.

Just wondering if anybody has any more recent information on this one. As far as I am aware it is still not working in v7.101.
Can anyone confirm / deny this please?

the footer is appended, but I am not sure about Customisation -> GLobal though.

I have done a bit of testing of this feature over the past few days and on my ASG (v7.101) this is what I have found.

Incoming emails do get “stamped” as the email passes through the gateway by the text string in Email Security > SMTP > Anti-Virus > Anti-Virus check footer.
This also happens for outgoing messages.
In my opinion, this is working as designed.

If you use Email Security > SMTP > Advanced > Confidentiality footer, this text is placed below the Anti-Virus text string.

I have been able to use “some” basic HTML coding 

This email was Anti Virus checked by Astaro Security Gateway.
http://www.astaro.com

and this seems to work in Outlook 2003 and in my ISP’s webmail client.

Other HTML has not worked; like using  tags.

This email was Anti Virus checked by Astaro Security Gateway

This resulted in:
This email was Anti Virus checked by http://www.astaro.com">Astaro Security Gateway

Although this feature is not “feature rich” it does, for me at least, seem to work as it should.
More HTML functionality would be nice however.  [:)]

Hey All,

 Make sure you have used the transparent proxy feature. Also verify the email server or client side is allowed in the "host based relay" section. This should take care of this problem.

Turn on "scan outgoing messages" on the Relay tab under SMTP.  Once you've done this, your outgoing confidentiality footer messages will be attached.  Without this enabled, the footers won't be added.
