USB to Ethernet Adapter

Hi, the 9.1 beta has drivers for SOME USB NICs, but none will get very high performance.

Can you post the lines from 
lspci -vv
and
lspci -vvn

for the onboard NIC, so hopefully Sophos can make sure the driver is available?

Will do but for the moment I believe its a Broadcom bcm57765.

I use an USB NIC Adapter as external interface on a utm. The provider requires a pptp connection on that interface.
Since I changed from a ESX Version (fix nic) to the usb nic version without ESX the performance on that interface is less than 1 Mbit/s? 

SW Version is 9.100-8 on an Atom System with 2GB Mem.

Do you mean that with less performance on a usb nic or is there an other problem?

First, Up2Date 9.100-8 to 9.100-12.

I bet it's a different problem.  First, try setting the MTU to 1400 - if that works, play with the number until you find the maximum.  In fact, your ISP may be able to tell you that.

The next thing to try requires rebooting your UTM and your ISP's modem after each change to force a renegotiaion of speed+duplex.  On the 'Hardware' tab, try the different speed and duplex settings.

Yes, USB NICs are known for very poor performance.

However, 1mbps seems especially bad.

I have a Startech USB 3.0 Ethernet adaptor and I would like to use it with my newly created UTM 9 on a Toshiba Satellite laptop. Startech provides linux drivers for their adaptor. Anyone have experience/luck getting this or any other USB Ethernet adaptor working with UTM when the drivers are provided?
