can no longer up2date, need help with full install

I am a bit confused? Why aren't you licensed anymore?

Why not just download the 7.502 update and install that?

How will upgrading the software allow for the licence to work.

We have a valid license for ASG v7 but the problem is because our support package, software and hardware warranty has ended, we are no longer allowed to use manual up2date as far as i can tell (wont work and i read forum posts saying that up2date is only for people with support packages).

I downloaded the 7.510 manual up2date file and uploaded it through webadmin and it hasnt gone through

I do understand  that support should be paid for but updates is a bit far. to get Sp3 for xp you can just install it, you dont need to reinstall the whole OS from a CD if you dont want to pay for paid support.

you are waaaay beyond expired.  You aren't going to be able to update until you re license.

but if i wanted to do a full install with the 7.510 disc i could use this license?

you don't have a license...its expired.  you'll need to head to my astaro and create another one for v7/8 that will be the essentials free edition.

expired...nough said.  renew your subs or you aren't doing anything.  OR as i said head to my astaro and change to the new license model so you can have the free essentials edition.  that then gives you manual up2dates.  Those are your choices.

Updating is a function of the software warranty part of your current license (which is expired), not the usage part (never expires).

Also, the Essentials (Astaro Essential Firewall for Business Use) will probably not work for you:
1)  It is software or virtual machine only, not really designed to go onto the Web Gateway Appliance Hardware.
2)  You will lose all web filtering capability.  Essentials is Firewall and a few network services only.

Your options at this point are to:
1)  Use Essentials and lose much of the functionality you are probably using, but at least it's free.
2)  Stay with your current install and version.
3)  Renew your licenses.

There isn't much more we can tell you here, since this is a technical user-to-user forum and not sales.  You should think about how you want to proceed, then contact a reseller (the one that you bought the AWG1000 from originally or a different one if you choose) or Astaro sales for further questions or information about pricing and current promotions.  Locate a Partner.
