[V8] None of my licenses work

as some of you have done it successfully. how do I upgrade my home license to v8?  or should I wait for the official work from AngeloC?

dknyinva:  Log into your account at my.astaro.com.  Go to license management and choose upgrade for your license.  This will take you to a page with your license details and there will be a button up at the top you need to hit to initiate the upgrade process.  Once complete, download the new style license and reapply to your V8 install.
 
As an amendment to my post above about license issues after applying.  I saw this issue when installing the new license with IE8.  I happened to reapply using FF instead and none of the same issues with disabled features exist.  I will need more time to try changing and reinstalling the license using IE8 and then FF again to confirm that this is the case.

I was reading thru the entirety of this thread, and have a few questions guys, along with some info.

Currently we have done the following:

1) made it possible to 'upgrade' your home use keys to the on-demand format for use with v8
2) added web application security to the home use keys, after upgrading you will have it

Note that this is only for existing home use keys, (it has nothing to do with production licenses, if you have paid key(s) and are encountering any issues, please submit a support ticket, they can help you out. I am not aware of any commercial key issues at all at this point.

Further, if you make a new home use key, it will be fully v8 capable as well.

With that in mind, if you have an existing home use key not of the on-demand style, and are having issues with it working in V8 AFTER you have logged into my.astaro.com and upgraded it to the on-demand type, please let us know here. I currently do not see a widespread issue or bug with the process. We were thinking about doing the conversion automatically, but are still working on the possible fallout/consequences for doing it that way. As it sits now, you just login and push a button to move your key over and your ready to go.

I would be interested in users which had a 100-ip special allowance key, and then were back to a 50 IP key when the process was complete, as some are reporting their speically allocated ip count was preserved just fine...

The my.astaro.com upgrade process worked fine for my special home use license, 100 IPs... everything seems to be in order.

I upgrade my special licence in may and got a limited "home user" licence.
A couple of days ago I applied for an additional home licence as was sent my original licence.

The original licence doesn't appear on myastaro page and is only usable on a v7.5xx ASG. How do I get my old licence upgraded?

I installed my 50 IP license with IE and my reverse proxy and IPS are disabled. It did preserve the connection limit etc. Also in the FOR HOME USE section, it says astaro v7[:)] So I reverted back to the public beta license. Will try again with FF to see if your hunch is correct.

If that goes smoothly, I will upgrade my 100IP license[;)]

I experienced the same type of issues as Scott.  I upgraded and downloaded my Home License and installed it using Opera 10.60, IE8 and Avant 11.7.  All of these produced the same results indicating that my "Network Security" and "Web Application Security" were both disabled by license limitation.  I tried FF 3.6 and it installed correctly.

As a side note, I am seeing functionality issues when using Opera 10.60 to access my Astaro Admin GUI.  Things like clicking on "Apply" buttons and nothing happens.  This was not a problem before but I just upgraded to Opera 10.60 as well as Astaro v8 so I don't know which one is the cause of the problem.

Scott was right, I installed the license using FF and everything is working as expected. Same license was a no go for IPS and reverse proxy using IE8 vista sp2. Wonder what the difference is. Also upgraded my 100 IP license and the license count is still at 100 IP, yeah...

@RWeiss: I beta tested astaro on opera (10.53) and although not fully supported, it did work mostly other than a few quirks. I haven't upgraded to 10.60 yet but if its broken, we can blame opera for that[:@]

Guess it's a verified bug then. I've created a new thread as notification to Astaro personnel.  Thanks for double-checking BillyBob.
