Name conventions for upgrade / renew what ever.

I have a customer who cant renew his licence. He get the folowing error :

"Could not apply UPG-AS71001GM-*********x to the license for the following reason:
You cannot apply this upgrade as a subscription renewal. Please contact your sales representative."

Well the 'sales representative' that would be me.

I guess that the problem is the UPG- key.

Here goes my question :

How do i see what kind of key it is ?
Upgrade feature, renew licence etc.

Hope someone have the answer.

you try to use a initial key as an renewal - will not work, they changed to renewal keys months ago;
the renewals always have an "R" - like UPG-ASG1103GMR

just have a look to your price list and you will find all the article numbers for the different types of articles and can see the name "thinkin' " behind..

UPG is also used for renewal keys. I recently had a customer renew about 4 months late. The Astaro system had already decided that the license had been abandoned and wouldn't let me register the renewal. I had to have our representative at Astaro apply the upgrade, then I was able to download the new license for ourt client.
