- cable Internet provider permits up to 5 simultaneous devices (hosts by IP address) on the cable "modem" that serves my house.
- each address is limited to 6MB/s down, 384KB/s up
- the aggregate of 30MB/s down, ~2MB/s up is supported by the cable modem when bandwidth is otherwise available in the cable plant.
- I'm only using 1 of the 5 (directly into the ASG) available device addresses.
Question:
is it possible to enable a "spare" (i.e., unused) ethernet port on the ASG, let it acquire one of those available IP addresses and effectively double my Internet bandwidth?
If so, please provide instructions; this is something that even the 'beige box' users could readily implement with the addition of another ethernet card.
If it's not, it would sure be nice to get it added as a feature!
