7.3 Installation problem...

try login as root, and /etc/init.d/factoryreset start

Didn't work:

:: Starting Facotry Reset Support    (failed)
cp: cannot stat 'var/lib/misc/luserdb': No such file or directory
etc/init.d/factoryreset: line 46: /use/bin/astp: no such file or directory

This is a completely brand new installation just before posting.

EDIT: It is factoryreset reset and not factoryreset start

I will report back to see if it will work.

I have downloaded the ISO twice now to be sure.

Before the 3com, I had the same issue with a previous network card as well.

No memory errors at all, no HDD errors, no bad I/O taking place, no bad sectors.

Just for an FYI on the one and only problem, but I can't seem to make that work as well because it already sees that files exist.

I won't be of much help.  In six years of reselling Astaro, I've never seen an initial installation with such difficulties.

I reloaded this time, instead with 7.300 instead of the 7.302 ISO.

It works.

I will update the appliance again with Up2Date and see where that takes me, but I am guessing this is going to be a version issue.

Tom, Gert, you might ask someone to check the 2008-10-10 iso on the download site.

Just for an update to this, I did the following:

Downloaded the ISO for 7.300.  Created my CD, and installed Astaro.  Went flawless (nothing different there, it always installs with no issues).

I manually downloaded and installed 7.301, 7.302, 7.303, 7.304 and at the time, I had left out my backup configuration from both 7.302 nad 7.304.  Later, after verifying that each update was successful and working, I had applied my configuration backup to 7.304 (nothing was changed between 7.302 and .304).  Everything was reporting as it should!

Before, I was using the 7.302 ISO to install and this is where I was seeing Network Security, Web Security and Management not showing any statistics, as if the tables weren't there.  Management was not showing any admin logins.  Network Security was showing no packets filtered, no IP addresses, etc.

I had downloaded twice before the same ISO version 7.302 in an attempt to make this work.  That is the only constant which I can find with my dealings where my installation was flawed, using that ISO.

There was no 7.303 or 7.304 ISO.  The latest at this time is 7.302.

i am having the same issue, i loaded 7.3 and pulled the cd and restarted and it goes through a check list and then asks for a login then a password and nothing works and i am at a loss. during installation it never asked for me to setup a login or password. any help would be great

ok i have setup my laptop with 192.168.2.101 and tried to access astaro through a web page with https://192.168.2.100:4444/ and it goes to a blank page just like it sees it but it is just a white page

At the end of the Astaro load, you indicated an IP address for the internal port of 192.168.2.100?  And, you are certain you are on that port?

Your laptop's Ethernet adapter has netmask 255.255.255.0?

yes sir, i just got back in, but i spoke with a friend who use's astaro and he said ie7 and the beta ie8 have issues with the web interface and to use Mozilla. so i am going to try that now and will let you know the results.

funny thing here, i loaded mozilla and it would not open it, so i opened ie8 and poof there it is. i am sure somewere i must have done something wrong and now somethig right but i am at a loss as to what! thang for your help and i will try to find out if it was me or a bug and let you know (probably just me) thanks
