7.1 Update - Outgoing Traffic Problem

To make it clearer, pinging internet addresses does not work anymore.

I have ASG320 and if nothing works, I am willing to rebuild it with 7.011 because I have a backup file for 7.011.  If anyone has no idea, instructions to resbuild ASG320 with 7.011 iso file would be helpful.

OK- lets get back to basics.
1) assumption that pings are allowed out of the firewall and nat is set up properly.
From inside the network can you ping the internal interface of the firewall. Can the the firewall ping an internal address.

2) from inside the network can you ping the external interface of the firewall

3) if yes- can you ping your internal interface of your router

4) if yes  - can you ping your external interface of your router.

5) can you ping the far end of your internet connection (Your routers default gateway)

1) Yes.  I restored the setting that I know it worked before.
2) Yes the firewall can ping internal address
3) Yes I can ping the external address of the firewall
4) No I cannot ping the internal address of the router from inside and firewall.
5) I cannot ping the external address of the router from inside, but firewall can ping it.
6) No from inside and Yes from firewall.

Remove your masquarade rule and recreate it

Just did.  Recreated "Internal (Network) -> External".  Still not working...

create an any any out rule. tun on logging
open the live packet log and try to telnet to something using port 110 or something and see if it shows up in the log.

- we know the interface works because you can ping from the firewall correct. It has to be a masq rule or packet filter rule. Unless some goofy static route is applied.

This is what i got.  I tried to telnet to port 3101.

I could not connect to port 3101 though.  Computers outside the firewall can connect using that port.

I am totally puzzled.  The masq rule did not change since we got the appliance, and the packet filter rule did not change either.  I have the following packet filter:

Internal (Network) -> (Any) -> Any
Any -> (RDP) -> Any
SSL VPN -> (Any) -> Any
Any -> (SMTP) -> MailServer
Any -> (Any) -> Internal (Broadcast)
Any -> (Any) -> Phone System
Any -> (HTTPS) -> MailServer
Any -> (Citrix1) -> Citrix Server
Any -> (Citrix2) -> Citrix Server

can you show me your masq rule

wrong net mask on external interface?
 I know I am grasping at straws.

I have reset the router and firewall.

Here is the masq rule.

VPN Pool (SSL) -> External
ASC (astaro secure client) -> External
Internal (Network) -> External

Subnet mask is fine.  just checked.  I know it is very weird...

ok - what if you try this
Reset to factory defaults
create just the interfaces and 1 masq and packet filter rule and see if it works. 

We can always restore your config to where you are now.

I reset to the factory defaults and created interfaces, 1 masq and packet filter rule, but it is not working.  I cannot use internet.  What am i doing wrong?

Did you try BruceKConvergent's fix on another thread?  He found that after the upgrade to 7.1 he suddenly needed to use a crossover cable to his external connection.  That the new drivers for 7.1 for the NIC to his external connection didn't support MDI/MDI-X on board the NIC anymore.  Go figure.

  Now that would be a kicker... But I think he reverted back to the 7.011 Image which would have the old drivers that worked, before the update...
