NIC Trouble

Hi Everybody,

I got three Intel EtherExxpress 100 Pro NICs with 82559 Chipset in my ASL box. Somehow the ASL is unable to correctly detect the NICs since in the WebAdmin Bus, IRQ,... are unknown.
I suspect that these NICs are too new to correctly detected by ASL. Are any new modules available or can I use modules by debian ?

which ASL version do you use?

Does the install routine recognise the NICs?

Hi,

I use ASL 1.822

The NICs are detected during installation.

I tried setting up a fixed IRQ for the PCI slots in BIOS, without any success.

I have similar problem with Intel 82820 Chipset. The interface is not recognised at installation. The /proc/pci shows however the device:

    Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82820 820 (Camino 2) Chipset Ethernet (rev 1).
      IRQ 7.
      Master Capable.  Latency=64.  Min Gnt=8.Max Lat=56.
      Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xefdfe000 [0xefdfefff].
      I/O at 0xb400 [0xb43f].

it's strange, your card is supported and should be recognized during installation... which version did you try to install?
