Issue by finishing setup wizard

good morning community,

some days ago, i've installed astaro security gateway v8 - home version on as vm on my esxi 5 host.

some key infos:
768 MB RAM
1 core (~3.2 Ghz)
10 GB HDD
2 NICs

the vm is installed out of downloadable iso file (file from 16.01).
i can filling all the steps in the basic wizard after installation
in the last step i get an summary overview und advise to press finish (see attached picture_1).
i press finish. now the summary box is empty (see pic_2), the finish buttom still availible an nothing is going on.
one more time press finish -> no result.
is only possible press cancel, then wizard ends an all setting from wizard lost.
if i not press cancel, but reload in the right upper corner the login mask show again und wizard beginn again.

please help

    you need at least 2 gigs of ram..1 is the absolute minimum.  You need at least 40 gigs of hdd.  You might be having resource contention issues with how low you are running ram and hdd.

    this requirements check the wizard at the end?
    Its unpossible to end the wizard without the minimum requirments?

    I'm having the same issue with the wizard where I couldn't complete a fresh install of v8.3 (Software ISO on a Supermicro server with 2GB of RAM). I had to press cancel and configure manually as it just sat there doing nothing.

    I couldn´t reproduce your problem. To get a better understanding of your issue we need more input. Please send us following information:
    1. Which OS did you use?
    2. Which Browser?
    3. Following log files from the date of installation: /var/log/confd.log
    /var/log/confd-debug.log
    /var/log/mdw.log
    /var/log/mdw-debug.log
    /var/log/httpd.log

    If you only want a test machine, and want to test nothing but the most basic functionality, you *can* run a machine like that - however, unless you know very much about the internal details of the ASG software, it's probably not the best way to test: Suppose you run into trouble - how are you plannung to judge whether the trouble is caused by bugs - or just by resource exhaustion on your memory-starved machine?

    For a production system, William is absolutely right, don't try to run like this, the economy of memory is almost certainly not worth risk of exhausting resources.  You want a stable firewall, and you don't want a fantastically slow one, right?

    However, available memory and disk space is *not* explicitly checked by the wizard, so something does seem fishy here.  I no case is any part of the user interface expected to just get stuck, without any kind of error message. So please provide the requested details to Masoumeh!

    Hello there.

    I have exactly same Problem like starlight1986.

    On my VM (served by latest Proxmox VE) the initial setup wizard doesn´t finish.
    Hardware-Specs:
    Intel Core i5 2500k (4x3,4 GHz, Hyper Threading)
    4x4GB RAM
    all VM-"HDD´s" are on 2x 500GB RAID0

    VM-Specs:
    1 Core with around 10% CPU-Time.
    2GB RAM
    20GB VM-HDD (VIRTIO) - should be enough for home-use!

    Installation finished in normal speed, no errors.
    After initial boot i went to web-UI, where config-wizard was waiting for me.

    Setup everything, went all fine until i clicked the "finish" button of the wizard.

    Exactly the same looking as on starlight´s screenshots.

    I just clicked cancel there and set up my astaro by hand...

    I don´t think it is a hardware-issue, because the Astaro runs pretty pretty well, fast and stable!

    Any more having this problem?

    P.S.: An installation of a 8.2 ASG finished the config-wizard with no problems!

    proxmox i'm ot usre is officially supported?  have you tried hyper-v/kvm/vmware?

    Proxmox is a Linux Distribution based on Debian Lenny, which combines KVM and OpenVZ.

    The Astaro VM is a KVM-based-Host!

    Whenever there's a problem with initial setup not working correctly, the first thing to try is to do a checksum on your ISO and then burn a new CD at 4x or slower.

    Are you serious?
    Everything was working just fine. Installation in VM was done w/o problems.
    Only Configuration Wizard in webbrowser is not able to finish it.

    If there would be a MD5 mismatch, there would have been an error within setup, nor?

    And i don´t burn CD´s i give the iso-image directly to my VM.
