strange pppoe problem

hi there, 

i got a strange pppoe problem. sometimes my dsl connection will drop and never come up again. i also tried the "tuned" pppoe setting for a faster reconnect but it will not work. 

log files says something like "eth2 failure". i've replaced the nics by new and different ones - did not work out.

after restarting everything works fine. complete clean'n'fresh install does not work out.

it has been working fine on v3.

any hints?

    I've the Problem,too!! 
    I use the Astaro Version 4.
    I think it's a Problem with the IP- Adress change from the
    ISP! I can't toggle the Interface because i've Masq. activated... Hope to find e Fix or something.
    I hope here's a little support from Astaro??!!

    mmmh. i just replaced every piece of hardware (dsl modem, splitter, nics, cables) and got still the problem :-(

    the problem seems not to be related to hardware. We are currently evaluating
    what the problem may cause - stay tuned.

    I'm inclined to agree it is something with the way the ISP renews the connection and how ASL's PPPoE deals with it.  I had one ISP with the same problem (I think they were using an NT Radius system that had issues).  DSL in the next town was fine.

    In the town that works it works great.  The IPSEC tunnels rebuild and ez-ipupdate works.  The one that doesn't is a pain when IP renews, finally went to static IP and cost for that one.  Otherwise similar set-ups.
