I noticed that the error included "INET6 configuration failed".  Are you using ipv6?

Yes, I am still experiencing the problem This UTM is using IPv6 over a sixxs tunnel. I rebuilt the installation from scratch using the 9.080 ISO and the 9.090 up2date and a restored configuration.

i tried to install the slim and fat EPs on a new W8 64 PC and both failed with either a 404 or unknown.

So here is the quick answer that I can see:

First off, the IPv6 may or may not be related.  Right now I'm tempted to say it is not.

There are URLs that are generated for the UTM to connect to LiveConnect.  There are also URLs that are generated for windows clients to download endpoint.  It looks like these URLs are being generated incorrectly.

Can you please post screenshots (or cut and paste) the Computer Management / Advanced / Sophos LiveConnect Registration and the Deploy Agent / Full Package URL.

I don't know off the top of my head.

The first problem that you have is that the UTM is not registering with LiveConnect.  Because of that, the URL to download the Endpoints is not working.  Leaving the Endpoints for a second, I think that will solve itself once the UTM is registered.

I still need to see the contents of the Advanced tab - LiveConnect Registration.

Once quick thing to try.  Disable endpoint (upper right corner of Global tab).  Wait a second then Enable it again.  Take a look at the Endpoint Protection log and see if it is still complaining.  Actually, can you post the log here again?
