Not able to install Firmware 16.05.7(MR-7) or 16.05.8(MR-8) via SFM

Hi Michael,

As of now only v16.5 customers can upgrade to MR-7 or MR-8 firmware. Once SFOS MR-7/MR-8 release available for every customer (v15 / v16/ v16.5 customers), UP2Date entry for the SFOS MR-7/MR-8 firmware will be enabled for SFM/CFM.

Remark: Customer can upgrade SFOS firmware to SFOS 16.5 MR-7 or SFOS 16.5 MR-8 manually from SFOS GUI and through UP2Date if his XG firmware version is SFOS 16.5.

can you tell me exactly how this works? For which customers is MR-7/MR-8 not yet enabled? Is it possible to upload a firmware manually into the SFM?

Hi Michael,

I don't have timeline detail as of now. But it will take time.

I suggest you to upgrade SFOS firmware using check for latest firmware option of SFOS or manually upgrade.

Ok. I would be glad, the Design for further SFM-Releases would be reviewed in this point. So this weakness of SFM can be purged, and make it possible with SFMv17 to Update any future v17 Maintenance Releases. :)

As of today I realized that I'm able to install v17.0.2 via SFM. I have some XG with 16.05 MR6 / MR8 / 17.0 can u confirm that all these Versions can be upgraded? Do I have the Option to Rollback if something goes wrong e.g. from Version v17.0.2 to 16.05.6 ?

Yes, All 16.05. MR-6/MR/8/17.0 all version can be upgraded.

You can rollback to firmware which was available in other slot in SFOS firmware page. But configuration of rollback firmware (16.05.6) will be displayed. Not the latest firmware 17.0.2 configuration.

• SFOS v17 MR-2 is declared as GA version for all v15, v16, v16.5, v17 release. 
• SFOS v17 MR-2 firmware is available via SFM/CFM. 
• User can upgrade up to SFOS v17 MR-2 firmware from SFM/CFM.

Hi I have a similar problem

I see it showes 

HW-SFOS_17.0.8_MR-8.SF110-209

is aviailable for download.  But when I download it.  It tells me that it cannot be installed and I should look online for help.

My XG85 is stuck at SFOS 17.0.3 MR-3

What is the problem or is this  a release issue?

You need to have a valid Enhanced Support License in order to be able to install newer firmwares on your appliance.

Does your licensing tab shows something like that ?:

Yes I do have that.

It was the Plus support I don't have.
