Cannot get Captive Portal to function

Joe,

make sure to configure a top firewall rule where "match know user and show captive portal to unknow users" are checked.

Captive portal works on 8090 by default.

You can change captive portal settings under Authentication > Services.

captive portal is enabled only on LAN by default. Check the configuration under Administration > Device Access > Captive Portal Column.

So this cannot be enabled on the WAN side?

Maybe I'm approaching this the wrong way -- what I want to accomplish is have external users load a web page, authenticate, and have VPN installed from that page.

Am I doing this incorrectly?

you are looking for User Portal. By default User Portal is active on port https://wan ip . You can enable it under Device Access and change the port under Device Settings in the same Administration menu.

Hi Joe, 

Captive portal will not work from WAN interface only in LAN connections including MPLS connections. If you are using SSL VPN , the user check would pass hence no captive portal.
