  • sorry to bothering you guys. here is the solution I found and it works

  • Asif,

    when you installed STAS, what option did you install?

    Strange. Can you try to configure Credentials on STAS unders services.msc? Otherwise try Local Service and start the service.

  • Hi Thanks for the reply,

    i tried through services.msc and now i am able to start STAS service but getting one more issue.

    when i go for test connectivity in advance tab. i put my sophos IP 192.168.1.1 (which is my sophos gateway IP) it says "test connection successful but collector is not added / STAS is disabled in sophos"

    although i applied the steps in console to enable these but still its same. please see below what i configured in consule

    system auth cta enable {ENTER}

    system auth cta collector add collector-ip 192.168.1.1 collector-port 6677 create-new-collector-group {ENTER}

  • Asif,

    the collector-ip 192.168.1.1 is wrong. Here you have to add your AD Server IP not XG.

  • its working :)

    thanks a lot and superb support :)

  • I know you found your solution - but just wanted to add for those not wanting to click the link that The solution is simply to give the user in question "logon as a service" right

    1. After install STAS, the following error may be encountered:

             This error message indicates that the Username and Password entered at the time of  installation while running the wizard are wrong.

    Failed Message

    Failed: Can not start service.: STAS

    Fatal Error: The service did not start due to a logon failure

    In fact this message is displayed due to the non-completion of the user and password in the creation of the service in Windows Server.

    1. Go to Start à Run

              Execute “services.msc” to modify the username and password of service.

              Click on OK and a screen will appear with “Sophos Transparent Authentication Service”.

    1. Right Click Cyberoam Transparent Authentication Service and select the properties of Sophos Transparent Authentication Service. Click on the ‘Log On’ tab to change or rewrite the credentials.

             Enter the correct username and password and then restart the STAS services.

    1. Open STAS exe that you installed. Under General tab, click on Start button to run the service.
