Access to Home LAN while connected to Work VPN via Sophos

Hi Everyone!
I am using a work VPN at home and at the same time I have a home network.
Platform: Windows 10
The IP pattern of the Work VPN is 192.168.xxx.xxx
The IP pattern of the Home LAN is 192.168.1.xxx

Is it possible for me to have access to my Home LAN while being connected to Work VPN via Sophos?

I would appreciate any pointers on how to achieve that.
Is it something that I can change in my Win10 settings or is this something that has to be configured in Sophos?

Thank you!

  • Hello

What is the subnet mask for work VPN? if your home LAN & Work VPN subnet does not conflict with each other then you can use both at the same time.

Alternatively, you can change your home LAN netowork to something other than the work VPN.

  • The subnet masks are unfortunately the same:
    255.255.255.0

So I guess the easiest way is to reconfigure the subnet on the home router, correct?
    Something like 255.255.255.224

And thank you for your reply, much appreciated!

  • Hi,

subnets have nothing to do with the issue, what are the ip address ranges used?

  • I meant the network and not the subnet.

so for your work VPN if its 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0 & Home network 192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0 then there wont be any issue. however if your work VPN is 192.168.x.x/255.255.0.0 then you may face challenges.
