Intel CPU needed for ssl decryption on XG Home Edition version

Hello All,

Does anyone know if I need to use an Intel AES-NI CPU to run ssl decryption?

I am new to the home XG firewall.

Thank you for your time and information.

  • thanks rfcat_vk.

According to their site, the home edition supports SSL decryption.  As you know, it only stated that you need a 4 core CPU and 6GB of RAM.

I wonder how they are decrypting.  I assume they are totally using the base CPU instructions.  I wish they could take advantage of AES-NI, hopefully in the future.

  • Hi,

the recommendation for home use is the fastest 4 core device and it diesn’t need to be an i series and 6 fb of ram. There have been many discussions and feature requests for the inclusion of aes-ni in the software version of XG. There is an unsubstantiated rumour v19.5 might have it included.
