The current home edition does not support aes-ni. You do not need aes-ni to perform ssl encryption. All sophos hardware supports ssl encryption using dual core celeron in older models as an example.
going on the sophos hardware that does support aes-ni you would need a low end Xeon.

thanks rfcat_vk.
According to their site, the home edition supports SSL decryption. As you know, it only stated that you need a 4 core CPU and 6GB of RAM.
I wonder how they are decrypting. I assume they are totally using the base CPU instructions. I wish they could take advantage of AES-NI, hopefully in the future.
Hi,
the recommendation for home use is the fastest 4 core device and it diesn’t need to be an i series and 6 fb of ram. There have been many discussions and feature requests for the inclusion of aes-ni in the software version of XG. There is an unsubstantiated rumour v19.5 might have it included.
