This is the error i get from Veeam backup:

For comparison. This is how a regular Linux VM with the Open Source VMware tools installed looks like:

Normally the fix would be easy - just log into the console of the Linux appliancel, and update the VMware tools.
But as there is no way for me to access the real CLI/Shell of the VM, i cannot update/reinstall it myself...

Unfortunately VMware tools installation is not supported on Sophos iView at the moment. 

At the moment VM tool plugin integrated with virtual XG only.

There is an existing thread on Ideas portal for same where you may give your vote to increase the priority for same.
