Issue with device access through the WAN interface

Good day all,

Is it a known issue after migration from cyberoam to SFOS where one cannot access the device through the WAN link, because i have not been able to achieve that. What can i do in this case to have it working? Also i notice that SSO clients disconnect when they go on sleep mode thereby prompting re-authentication. I expected that that should not be the case since they are SSO clients. Is there a way to resolve this. Thanks

Hi,

for your WAN access you need to enable it Administration -> device access.

As far a the other items go, have you raised a request with your reseller/sophos support?

It is enabled already in Administration -> device access and yet cannot access through WAN link

Yes, just the way i access it via lan - https://<public ip>:4444

Hi,

in that case it sounds like you don't have the https access enabled. Do you have any rules blocking incoming traffic? What error message do you get when trying to access the external interface?

Not at all. The XG connects directly to the media converter (internet source).

Hi,

try changing browser, sometimes I have trouble with FF for a couple of days then it starts working correctly again. The error message you have posted usually indicates there is another security device in the path. What functions does the media convertor provide?
