Spam call protection via contact list

Any ideas on what I can do with spam calls coming in and I have "Block numbers not in contacts" checked?  I hate to get rid of this product, but I need it to check my contacts list first and block numbers based on it.  Thanks.

What kind of device are you using? Which Android version is currently running on the device?

Hello Stefan(from another Stephan/Steve).

My Android version is Lollipop 5.1 and my device is Motorola's Moto E 2nd Generation.  I also did a test I noticed that manually inserting a number to be blocked also does not work.  I suspect some type of service or process is either not active for the spam call protection or ?  I have used another product (Cheetah) for security and blocked calls via contact list and it worked just fine.  Thanks.
