Sophos Control Centre Not Updated Since

Hi All,

I am writing on behalf of one of my customer who has Sophos Control Centre 4 installed on Windows SBS Server 2008.

The updates are not working since 16 June 2014.

Below is a screenshot :

Hi,
SCC has been retired. To be honest I would suggest moving the customer to Sophos Cloud.

I dont want cloud..customer wants on premise AntiVirus server. please advise
does the customer need to buy anything ? please be specific and tell me exactly what i need to do to solve this issue. thanks

In that case I would suggest you upgrade it to Enterprise Console.

ok thanks for reverting back.
now another question.
my customer is saying that the anvtivirus expired on 2013.
He purchased Sophos Endpoint protection for 3 years this week itself.
we have planned to upgrade from Control centre 4.0 to the latest version.
confirm whether the customer will be covered for 3 years and will not lose 1 year of AV protection since the AV expired in 2013.

Hello coolgod,
the licensing model is not of the base+maintenance type where where you later have to buy unlicensed intervals or obtain a new base license. If you buy three years you get three years starting with the purchase date and not some date in the past.

thanks for confirming this.
also confirm that the username and password we put in the software is what determines the number of years we are protected..for e.g in my case 3 years..so the customer must have received a username and password as well ???

Hello coolgod,

neither I nor, AFAIK, Jak are Sophos - just in case you need something official. The credentials authenticate against the backend (which delivers the updates or provides the downloads) where they are mapped to the license and access to the applicable data is enabled. The customer should have received the credentials (can't say though whether in this case new ones are issued or simply access is re-enabled for the old ones). If in doubt please contact customercare@sophos.com.

since you are saying you are not from sophos, can anyone officially from Sophos confirm this?
