Connecting endpoint to Enterprise Console

We are trying to push Sophos Anti-Virus/HIPs to client machines using Dell KACE. This working to install the deployment package, but the machine isn't communicating with the Console. Does anybody know of a way to get the endpoint and console to communicate if it wasn't installed/pushed using the console itself?

Thanks in advance!

  • Hello,

It shouldn't matter how it was pushed, SEC just creates a scheduled task to run setup.exe from the CID with the necessary switches

    http://www.sophos.com/en-us/support/knowledgebase/12570.aspx

If the computer isn't showing up in SEC, then the Remote Management System (RMS) software is where you need to focus.

    Checks include:

    1. RMS is installed.

    2. The Sophos Message Router and Sophos Agent service are started.

    3. The ParentAddress value under the Router registry key (HKLM\software\sophos\messaging system\router) has an address the clients can resolve the management server.

    4. The router and agent have a certificate  Router gets one first followed by the Agent. Evidence being a pkc and pkp value under the Router and Agent registry keys.

    Regards,

    Jak

  • We tried setting the RMS settings when pushing via the Deployment Package Manager but it did not work. We can get the package to install without checking the 'RMS' box in the DPM, but this doesn't help since we need to connect to the SEC. The problem is we're trying to install and manage Sophos across domains.

  • Hello Guest11400,

just to make sure, the install is successful w/ or w/o RMS?
The endpoints must be able to connect to ports 8192 and 8194 of the management server (using either of the addresses in mrinit.conf). Please use the tags to find related threads.
