Enterprise Server Updater Gone Too

Title say it all. How do you update/repair the server?

US call support hangs up when accessed, good customer support since we got an invoice for renewal from Sophos yesterday.

  • My SUM is stuck on Downloading Binaries. I removed the bad update files, turned off on access scanning. I made sure all the files in Quarantine weren't moved/deleted. They are in the right locations. I ran a repair install of the SUM MSI file from an elevated command prompt. I'm running out of ideas here. I've bounced the server 3-4 times between some of the above steps. Does anyone have any ideas? - Joe

  • Hello JoeLansing,

did you clear the complete Warehouse (doing so for Working too might do no harm)?

  • I've got C:\ProgramData\Sophos\Update Manager\Update Manager\ with 4 CIDs and Warehouse under it.

And then I've got C:\ProgramData\Sophos\Update Manager\Working\ with 4 Decoded-???? folders underneath it.

Delete what?  I'm dying to fix this.  I'd love to fix this turkey!

  • Hello Joe,

    and Warehouse under it

that's the one. Stop the Update Manager service, delete all items in the Warehouse (leave the folder). You can do the same for the Working you mentioned. Restart the service and tell the SUM  to Update Now. Hopefully this will do it.
