Problem Installing Update Manager

I'm running enterprise console 4.0.0.2362 and add 12 remote site running SOPHOS UPDATE MANAGER from windows XP workstation ...A Couple of my Update machine crash and where replace by windows 7 64 bit computer ..The problem is i cant install the updtae manager (Suminstallset) on these computer.

Is sophos update manager supported on windows 7 64 bit or is there a New file that is needed

    Hello Dean,

    SEC4.0 is not quite the latest version and it's not considered current. And SEC4.0 did not yet support Win7 (see http://community.sophos.com/t5/Sophos-Endpoint-Security-and/Remote-Console-and-Windows-7/td-p/95).
    Any particular reason you are still on SEC4.0?

    Iim presently runnining EC 4.0 on a windows 2003 server with a 12 gig C drive partition ,the problem with it is that the c; drive partition only has 700 mb free space and even though my d: drive  has over 100 gig of free space when im upgrading to EC 5 its say not enough space even though i run it from the D drive.

    Could you move some of the space from the D paritiion to the C partition using a partition manager? Then install SEC 5 to the C drive?

    Oh yes, the undersized C: drives. You could perhaps free some space by moving the CIDs (and the Working directory) to the D: drive (please see transfer CID of SUM to another location).

    Is there a ENTERPRISE CONSOLE 5 or is 4.7 the latest.  download for 4.7 was all i founded

    Either it was a typo or RogueViper is a Beta tester :-)
    4.7 is latest - but 5.0 is to be expected before the turn of the year - my personal assumption.

    Thanks for the advice i was able to free up almost a gig of space.   However when I run the installations for EC 4.7 i got and error where the sophos3 databse was unassessible beacuse it was compressed.    After decompressing it i re-run the installion and was asked to restart the computer but now i getting the error

    "Sophos Enterprise Console 4.7.0 Installing shield wizard" ...the system has fail the basic requirement checking   " Sophos Update manager must be uninstalled before installing this Product"

    i have gone into add remove program and uninstalled some program (remote management and autoupdate and EM library)  but i keep getting th e same error ..

    I never saw Sophos update manager in add remove program

    Hm, seems you managed to confuse the installer. Won't help you now but as you were already on 4.0 you wouldn't have needed the SOPHOS3 database.
    So you ran the 4.7 Upgrade Advisor (which did not complain), then the installer but it stopped at some point? You probably don't have the exact error you were getting. If you run the advisor again - what does it say?
    Uninstalling RMS was not a good idea as it crippled the 4.0 install (EM library is not a problem if you've already got rid of your legacy policies). Is SEC 4.0 still in Add/Remove Programs? Can you still open the console? If not you're in limbo. I'd first run the 4.0 installer again to repair the 4.0 installation. If this doesn't work you should by all means call Support. Best-guess hacking, excuse me, will only make things worse.
    Oh - if you haven't done yet please back up the SOPHOS4 database.
    OTOH even though it might sound scary at this point chances are good that the problems can be resolved. Don't dismiss any errors you encounter (it's a good idea to make screenshots - you won't remember the details afterwards).
