Can't scan successfully using a Macbook pro running Mountain Lion

I am having a problem with scanning.  When I tried scanning yesterday using scan local drives, all was well until I was down to about 78,000 files left.  Then the scan closed and disappeared.  When I opened the preferences, I did not see any record of this scan.  According to the program, I last used total scan on 11/04 but I have tried to use this scan since, but it does not complete.  (see above)  The program says that I used the user scan on 10/25/2012.  When I tried to scan yesterday using this scan it got down to 106,000 files left and then got hung up and wouldn't continue.  I uninstalled and reinstalled the problem yesterday,to no avail.  I am an intermediate computer using using a Macbook pro running Mountain Lion. i hope someone can help me.

  • I'm having the same problem.  I have disabled hard drive sleep schedules, profile password lock outs (after xx minutes, return to login screen and require password)  just in case these things caused a hiccup in the scan.  I have a macbook pro with Mountain Lion.  SAV worked fine with Snow Leopard, but I have not been able to complete a full scan since I upgraded Mountain Lion.  SAV shows no history of the previous 10 scans I've attempted, except to say "This scan never completed."  Please help!

  • Has no one else seen or experienced this? I can't believe we are the only two. Please, if you more experienced users have an idea of what to do, share it. It bugs me that I can't figure this out on my own, but that's what I'm having to admit. Thank you for any and all help you can offer.

  • I just downloaded this today and after about three or four attempts.  I've noticed that the scan process suddenly quit on me.  And no record of this is on file.  Just that fact that I started the scan and the time that the scan completed.  But with no info given to me if there was anything found.  Nothing at all is given to me.  This doesn't seem to be right.  Im guessing that if now email is returned that this is an issue, that cannot be fixed.  I will probably un-install this software. I just hope if that is the case that there isnt an issue on un-installing it as well.

  • Hello I am having the same issue, I am running the latest version of Sophos. My issue and thoughts...

While performing a local scan using the " Scan local drives" feature, the scan
will quit out and stop scanning whenever the auto update feature (I believe)
    activates.

Due to this, my scan never finishes and I have no idea what to do and of course Sophos support is no help. Any ideas?

  • Open Sophos preferences, goto AutoUpdate menu, unlock/authenticate and set update check to 2-3 hours or something similar.
