Help with Virus Removal Tool for PC

Hi

I can't find a board that deals with help other than for Mac's or mobiles.

I already had AVG and it found no threats, but i ran Sophos free Virus Removal tool and it found Troj/Inor-Fam but it can't remove it for some reason.

Can anyone help with how i can remove it?

    Hello Leslay,

    the Sophos Free Tools is at SophosTalk. Please post there - together with the details of the detection. If you have Windows 7 you'll find find the scan's log in %ProgramData%\Sophos\Sophos Virus Removal Tool (usually %ProgramData% is C:\ProgramData\ which might be a hidden folder - if you don't know how to unhide it please see for example here). It will tell you the filename and path of the malicious file. In case you have Windows XP the path is  C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Sophos\Sophos Virus Removal Tool.

    Thanks for the help. 

    A friend of mine ran some anti-malware programmes with my computer in safe mode and then uninstalled AVG and installed Microsoft Security essentials and between them they found the nasty trojan. I now have a clean bill of health from my Sophos scan. 

    Worrying that my anti-virus didn't find it in the firt place, but at least now i know what to do if it happens. 

    Promise i will post in the right forum next time.
