Autoupdate status

This would be expected if it's version 8 running on 10.4 or 10.5.

If you have Mac OS X 10.6 or higher and is it version 9 then it could be updating.  May be see this thread...

I have looked at the log and get the following:

com.sophos.autoupdate: Error: Could not update Sophos Anti-Virus at 14:45 on 04 June 2014
com.sophos.autoupdate: Verification failed

So you have 10.6+ and SAV9?

OK...open Terminal...

...and run (paste) this...

sudo rm -rf /Library/Caches/com.sophos.sau/ ; /usr/bin/SophosUpdate

 ...then press enter.  It'll clear the cache and force a new download.

If the problem continues something is interrupting/altering the downloaded files and Sophos AutoUpdate does like it - think proxy or something scanning the internet traffic.
