removal of threats

I have the same problem.  Sophos just keeps running and running, with no results.

The Threat Name is :  Mal/Wonton-G

Filename is:  ET-05041744.zip

What's happening here?!

I have not yet found an answer. Have e-mailed Sophos who told me the only support for Home Edition is through the Free talk process - in other words sort it out yourselves. I can't even stop it running! Someone suggested it might be having a problem with the back ups but I have disconnected my desktop hard drive, which is being used by Time Machine, and it made no difference.

I was hoping someone might have a solution.

I am having the same problem. Sophos tells me there are two threats. One does not seem to have a location; the other is in a backup file. When I try to clean them, the wheel spins and spins, and I eventually get a message that says "there was a problem during cleanup" or something like that. I looked in the log--which you can access in preferences--and it says that access to the file, which I assume is the file to be cleaned, has been denied.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have encountered a similar issue. Threat: Mal/Phish-A

Clean up in progress notification continues to run without completing action.

How do I ensure threat is removed?

External drive, time machine back-up not connected.
