removal of threats

Sophos successfully quarantined two threats but seems unable to complete the clean up process, it runs for a while and then either shuts down or I receive a message saying it was unable to complete the clean up.

Any ideas please

    I am having the same problem. Sophos tells me there are two threats. One does not seem to have a location; the other is in a backup file. When I try to clean them, the wheel spins and spins, and I eventually get a message that says "there was a problem during cleanup" or something like that. I looked in the log--which you can access in preferences--and it says that access to the file, which I assume is the file to be cleaned, has been denied.

    Here is the relevant text from the log, one for each threat:
