Cannot access PureMessage Administration Console

Hi,

We use Sophoe PureMessage on our SBS 2008 server. when trying to investigate missing mail this morning, i have found that i cannot access the administration console. i get the following error message:

"The administration console is unable to connect to the PureMessage service on the local server

The error code is 0x80070005"

I have checked to ensure that the service is working, have restarted the service, and ensured that user permissions are correct.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Tim.

  • Hi,

Perhaps I'm not clear as to the situation, but I'm not sure how removing the Enterprise Console from one system would impact the Puremessage console unless the console was installed on a remote system. Is that the case?

At the very least, based on that error, communication between the console and the database appears to be impacted, so I would restart all the appropriate Sophos Puremessage services one at a time and then try re-launching the console. If that fails, you could always remove the Puremessage console (not the services, but just the snap-in) and reinstalling.

Otherwise, I would recommend working directly with our support team since we may require some additional logs and event viewer entries to help isolate what may be going on here.

    Thank you.
