Hello,
I'm new to Sophos and PureMessage and would like to install it on our Front and Back End Exchg 2003 servers with SQL Express local databases on them. The BackEnd server does not have a connection to the Internet, but can talk to the Sophos Enterprise Console machine. I read in the documentation that I can setup an Updating policy so my back-end machine can get updates from the Enterprise console machine for both Anti-virus and Spam. Is that correct? The reason I ask is because I talked to a Sophos tech and he mentioned that to get SPAM rules, the back-end machine needs to be connected to the Internet. To me that doesn't seem correct so I wanted to get another opinion here.
The tech also mentioned that I cannot manage PureMessage on both of those machines from a single machine. Is that true as well?
My second question is: I haven't installed Sophos AV on my backend machine yet, however, if I download the "Anti-virus and Anti-Spam" file rather than just the "Anti-Virus" off my account, can I still configure it to be manged?
My last question - Is the PureMessage AV different from the Sophos Endpoint AV ? Can I not just install the SEP on it and then install PureMessage?
Thank you in advance!
