Bad throughput after 9.30*

9.309-3 I still have slowness issues with MTU of 1500 on separate Zone SSID on certain sites.

9.309 here on a hyper-v instsance with AP50

Bridged SSID working somewhat OK (as it has been)

Zoned SSIDs still not enough throughput to load anymore than the framework of a webpage. 

Did not test throughput, and will not bother. It is as unusable as it has been since 9.3.0

Have not applied ethtool and am not going to bother. This (long ago) passed the point of patent absurdity. 

I had what appeared to be a very productive call (over a week ago) with some key management members and found them to be sincere. Time will tell. I would imagine that the light at the top of the hole is getting hard to see.  Nonetheless, I am sure things will get ironed out at some point. However, at this juncture I am worn out and am moving on from the integrated Wifi.

I see a  lot of emotion, but no real configuration facts. Maybe it is time to build a table of facts to see if there is anything common (leaving out MTU)?

Hardware facts
what is the UTM running on?
how much memory?
how many CPUs/cores (William has advised against too many cores(VCPUS) on a virtual machine)
What configuration are the APs in? 
What type of APs
How many SSIDs setup in what modes?

I see a lot of complaints about the wifi, but I have similar problems about web surfing performance on dedicated connections except after I reboot the mac or the UTM.

I do see a lot of dis-associations in the wifi log which does puzzle me at times?

I am trying to understand what is going on, becasue my main UTM (home though it be) is running on a esxi 5.5 box with AP10 and AP50. The AP50 is running 4 SSIDs, one in seperate zone. On all SSIDs I can pull a speedtest of 4.4mb/s ( the maximum my ADSL connection allows) through.
I haven't changed any of my SSIDs/ APs from default configuration.

Hi Ian, you could do a local test between LANs/VLANs to see the actual throughput.
iperf is useful for such testing, or you can copy files with Windows or Apple's networking.

William has pointed out IPS scaling (performance) issues with many cores, it leads to the CPU idling at too low a frequency and not ramping up under moderate IPS loads.
AFAIK, it is unrelated to the recent WiFi problems.

Hi Barry,
I have run a number of test file transfers
1/. from an ms 2012 home server (on VM)
2/. from mac min on wire nertwork

to a mac pro on the seperate zone network. All going via the UTM.

File sizes vary from 650mb to 20gb

Throughput varies from 8.6MB/s to 16MB/s. UTM shows 120mb/s from the seperate zone.
The seperate zone is on an AP50 shared with 3 other SSIDs running both 2.4 and 5ghz. My seperate zone is on the 5ghz band.

The mac pro is running on battery for the entire test.
The UTM wireless tab show the mac pro connected at 300mb/s with 76% signal. The 76% signal is a worry considering the AP and the mac are about 2 metres apart.
My wife's ma pro is connected at 300mb/s on a 5ghz ssid and the printer is connected at 65mbs on a 2.4ghz ssid all on the same AP50.

As soon as I deployed /sbin/ethtool -K wlan0 tso off, these problems disappeared.  I just am not seeing the problems being discussed here.
